School pictures will be taken at WVWMS April 13-16. If your child is learning remotely during these days and cannot get to the school for pictures, you can submit a portrait for the yearbook through the Herff Jones eShare portal, which sends the picture directly to the yearbook. click title for more info.
Middle School students are invited to celebrate the season through a week of fun themed days, join us in celebrating and show your holiday spirit.
Applications for fall enrollment are due by June 9th. Please submit your application by either mail or drop off to our Central Office located at 450 North Maple Avenue, Kingston, PA 18704. Blank applications can be obtained on the West Side CTC website or by calling 570-288-8493.
These students have continued to show our three pillars of Be Respectful-Be Responsible-Be Kind though our virtual classrooms. The students received a phone call home and are being mailed a gift card for their continue our effort and hard work.
The Wyoming Valley West Middle School students shown above won the top award in the “What’s So Cool About Manufacturing?” Video Competition.
Congratulations to our WVW Middle School Mathcounts team and their coaches, Dr. Oliveira, Ms. Frey, and Mrs. Hampel who helped prepare the sixth, seventh and eighth grade team members. These Mathletes did an outstanding job competing against 11 other public and private schools from Luzerne and Lackawanna Counties. WVWMS placed 4th overall, in this very difficult competition which included tests of complex math computations. It was a great day to be a Spartan!!
The annual History Fair will be held at the Middle School on Thursday, February 20th from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. All parents are welcome to visit the Middle School at that time to see the various projects constructed by 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. Refreshments will be available for purchase and the yearbook will be available for order.
The Newspaper Club (Newsies) produces and distributes the Burgundy & Gold quarterly newsletter. Students are editors, reporters, and proofreaders. Students meet regularly to keep the school informed of the latest news going on around campus and in our community. Students learn teamwork, collaboration, the ins and outs of working on a school newspaper, and how to meet deadlines. It is an educational, fun and exciting experience. Publications will be available quarterly, we hope you enjoy!
